Hawkridge Entertainment Services recently consulted to the Lendlease Tender Bid giving specialist operational and design advice for the new Western Sydney Stadium (Parramatta Stadium redevelopment). In December 2016, Lendlease was named as the contractor to deliver the new Stadium, on behalf of Infrastructure NSW. The $300 million stadium redevelopment project will bring Western Sydney a brand new rectangular stadium with all 30,000 seats under roof cover. The Lendlease tender was a partnership with architects Populous and engineering consultants Aurecon. Construction of the new stadium is scheduled to commence on site in 2017.
Hawkridge Entertainment Services provided advice on the operational consequences of various design issues throughout the design process. This included analysis of Front of House and Back of House operational areas as well as external patron areas and Stadium access.
Additionally, Hawkridge Entertainment Services provided ongoing specialist design advice to the team on specific areas of activity and helped to problem solve areas of key consideration.
Director of Hawkridge Entertainment Services, Tim Long stated that the result of the design process was a fabulous venue that will also be highly operationally efficient.
“The critical advantage of this design was that the team took into consideration the requirements of the fans as well as how to service them effectively. The Back of House operations are especially important, given the multiple sporting codes using the venue as well as the potential other activities including major concerts.”
“We are proud to have assisted the successful Lendlease bid and look forward to seeing it develop as Australia’s best Stadium.”
