Sydney Coliseum Theatre
The RHR Group engaged Hawkridge Entertainment Services to undertake a feasibility, a financial and operational analysis as well as deliver a business plan for the successful future operations of the proposed $100m, 2,000-seat multi-functional Sydney Coliseum Theatre. Initially the club engaged Hawkridge Entertainment Services to review the current entertainment operations in the Tivoli Room and subsequently advise on the most suitable design options for the new centre.
The venue incorporates a large 2,000 seat proscenium arch theatre that can also be utilised as an 1,800-capacity contemporary music/comedy performance space with a range of standing and seating options as well as a corporate conferencing space for approximately 500 in dinner mode.
The consultancy was delivered over a series of stages and included engagement with local and international producers, promoters and arts companies as well as conference providers to ascertain their potential use of the venue. In addition, Hawkridge Entertainment Services provided strategic design advice to ensure that the design maximised any revenue opportunities within the footprint of the venue and allowed for efficient multi-functional operations across the various modes. Ensuring changeovers between operating modes were able to be accomplished in appropriate timeframes was critical to the success of the venue.
