Willoughby City Council engaged Tim Long to represent the Performing Arts in the client team responsible for the design of $171m The Concourse Project. In addition he was responsible for writing and updating the Cultural Facilities Business Plan throughout The Concourse Project.
He was also responsible for the development of all operational aspects related to venue and facilities management, the development of relationships with stakeholders, potential hirers and users of the venues, precinct activation including the development of the opening festival and ongoing programs, management of the interface between the Council and various state and federal agencies and ongoing reporting and presentation of advice to Council.
Services provided included:
Managed the processes to acquire the venue management, theatre infrastructure, sound and lighting equipment, AV equipment, Furniture, Fittings & Equipment including responsibility for all tender documentation.
Co-produced the official Opening and Concert performance.
Introduced and attracted business events to venues at The Concourse including three major conferences in the first 3 months of operation.
Successful negotiation to bring the English National Ballet to perform exclusive Australasian season at Chatswood.
Successful development and delivery of precinct activation programs including Live at Lunch and Terrific Tuesday promotions.
Successful negotiation and delivery of first performances by Opera Australia (OzOpera).
Significant increase in audience levels and engagement across all activities.
