Data Analyst for the Ultimo Creative Industries Precinct
Engaged by Create NSW, Hawkridge Entertainment Services provided research and data for the Ultimo Creative Industries Precinct project business case. The Final Business Case (FBC) considered options for the Ultimo Creative Industries Precinct – a renewal of the Powerhouse site at Ultimo. The NSW Government’s commitment to a world class museum anchoring the precinct guided the development of the FBC. Further it sought direction to test options for a new 1,500 seat lyric theatre and creative industries spaces. Create NSW led the development of the FBC in partnership with the Powerhouse Museum. Finalisation of the FBC occurred at the end of 2020.
The Ultimo Creative Industries Precinct will see the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo as the anchor, ensuring a vibrant 24-hour precinct that integrates cultural, creative and commercial uses. It will be a place that provides rich cultural experiences, facilitates collaboration and partnership with industry. It aims to support Sydney’s diverse creative industries community.
The NSW state government’s Cultural Infrastructure Plan 2025+ outlines the precinct as one of the priorities. The NSW Government commitment to the precinct is a significant opportunity to leverage the benefits of cultural and innovation precincts. The Ultimo Creative Industries Precinct will reimagine the Ultimo site as a dynamic and engaging cultural industries precinct. It aims to unite existing creative industries workspaces and institutions, including the University of Technology and the ABC.
