The New Heart of Ryde Project continues to progress forward. City of Ryde Council released time-lapse footage showing the former seven-storey council chambers and staff offices were recently dismantled floor-by-floor.
The revamped site will comprise council chambers, public meeting rooms, offices, childcare facilities, shops, and a public plaza. It will also include a multipurpose community and cultural building with three community activity rooms, meeting rooms, a 200-pax function room and a rehearsal room.
The centrepiece of the project will be a new multi-purpose cultural building dedicated to community use. This building will feature the Edna Wilde Performance Hall, which will be able to seat up to 700 people. In addition, the project will deliver a four-fold increase in community space whilst retaining 100% public ownership of the site.

Hawkridge Entertainment Services continue to assist this fantastic project with a range of design and operational advice. Most recently, the team completed a revision of the proposed financial operational model. The model was developed through engagement with internal and external stakeholders as well as Hawkridge Entertainment Services experience in delivering similar projects. It will assist Council to determine the operational requirements for the effective management of the facility.
